History of Jesus Christ the human god

Part 11:

The Fulfilled Prophecy of Jesus Christ the Messiah

 Chapter 32:

Jesus is Rejected in His Home Town of Nazareth

Jesus then went from Cana to His home town of Nazareth.

He knew He would be rejected there, but it was necessary so that those who rejected Him would be without excuse. The same is true today.

On the Sabbath He went to the synagogue and stood to read to the priests, as was the custom. When He stood, He was handed the Book of Isaiah the Prophet. According to custom, He could have been handed any scroll, but this was the scroll that was given Him.

He unrolled the scroll and opened it to Isaiah 61:1, 2 and read," The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, so He has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted and to proclaim freedom to the captives and sight to the blind; to strengthen with forgiveness those who are bruised and to proclaim that this is the acceptable year of the Lord."

Then He rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the deacon. He sat down and everyone in the synagogue stared at Him. He said, "Today you have heard this scripture fulfilled in your presence, in your own ears."

The people all agreed and were amazed by the blessed words that Jesus said. They asked, "Isn't this Joseph's son?"

Jesus answered, "You might tell Me this proverb later: 'Physician heal yourself.' Tell Me to do in this your city what you heard that I did in Capernaum. I tell you truthfully that no prophet is acceptable in his own city. There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah the prophet when there was no rain for three years and there was a great famine throughout the land. Elijah was not sent to any of them; only to a widow of Sidon, Zarephat. There were many lepers in Israel in Elisha's time, but he did not clean any of them except Naaman the Aramean."

This angered those who were in the synagogue and they grabbed Him and took Him outside the city to throw Him over a cliff on the mountain on which their town was built. But Jesus disappeared in the midst of them and went away.140
